(Sept. 24, 2024) — The Atlanta Police Foundation (APF) is proud to present one of Atlanta’s most impactful and widely recognized events — the annual “Crime is Toast” breakfast, celebrating the exceptional service of the Atlanta Police Department (APD). This high-profile event honors officers with awards such as Officer of the Year, Purple Heart, and Meritorious Service. Additionally, attendees will hear important updates on public safety from Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens and Chief of Police Darin Schierbaum during their State of Public Safety and State of the Force addresses.

WHEN: Tuesday, September 24, 2024 | 7:30 AM – 9:30 AM | Media check-in 7:00 AM – 7:30 AM

WHERE: Georgia World Congress Center | 285 Andrew Young International Blvd NW | Atlanta, GA 30313

WHY: Over 1,000 attendees, including Atlanta’s top business and community leaders, will gather to celebrate the contributions of APD. Key speakers include:

  • Andre Dickens, 61st Mayor of Atlanta
  • Darin Schierbaum, Atlanta Chief of Police
  • Dave Wilkinson, APF President & CEO
  • Christian Fischer, Georgia Pacific President & CEO
  • Other notable civic and business leaders

This year’s event focuses on two critical areas: Officer Wellness and APD’s recruitment and retention efforts. With a goal to raise $550,000, the funds will directly support hiring 500 new officers and expanding mental health support for those who protect and serve our city.

The breakfast offers an exceptional opportunity for the business community to sponsor and contribute to making Atlanta a safer place. Sponsors will be recognized alongside major partners such as Atlanta Gas Light, Cox Enterprises, Ice, Delta Air Lines, UPS, Georgia-Pacific, Georgia World Congress Center, and more.
