(Oct. 1, 2024) – The Atlanta Police Foundation (APF) is proud to announce the graduation of 24 young participants from the 12-week @Promise @Work (APAW) workforce development program. The ceremony will be held at 836 Metropolitan Parkway on Oct. 1 at 10 a.m.

APAW, a program led by APF’s @Promise Youth team, equips young people ages 16 to 24 with the skills and certifications necessary to secure meaningful employment. This graduation will celebrate the resilience and accomplishments of these remarkable youth as they take the next steps in their careers.

Attendees will hear inspiring stories from program graduates and enjoy remarks from key speakers, including Audrey King, SVP of External Affairs for Georgia Power, program leaders, and graduates themselves. This is the program’s 10th graduation since it began in 2022. There are four 12-week courses a year.

  • According to a 2023 juvenile recidivism statistic report, approximately 44% of juveniles released from state custody across 30 states in the US were rearrested within a year of release.
  • About 68% of juveniles were arrested again within 3 years of their release from state custody.
  • Overall, 77% of released juveniles were rearrested within 5 years.
  • The @Promise Youth recidivism rate is 8.9%.
  • The @Promise high school graduate rate is 100%.
  • The @Promise job placement rate is 89%.
