Memphis Mayor Paul Young met with APF President & CEO Dave Wilkinson to learn how APF created and maintains the nation’s most effective public/private partnership supporting public safety initiatives.
A delegation of Memphis civic and business leaders were treated to a tour and briefing of APF’s major community-focused programs: The At-Promise Initiative, Secure Neighborhood Housing program, and the Connect Atlanta Operation Shield integrated surveillance camera system.
Memphis leaders are planning to create a public/private partnership to address that city’s public safety needs. Cities and civic organizations across the nation regularly consult with APF to shape their approach to building public safety advocacy.
Now in its 20th year of operation, the Atlanta Police Foundation is wrapping up the final year of its three-year strategic plan, Public Safety First, which will culminate in the opening this December of the new Atlanta Public Safety Training Center.
